Foreword

Quite early in the production of Light on a New World it was agreed by the editorial team that we would include a regular series of articles on the sixty six books of the Bible.  This was in response to more than one request from our readers, and at regular intervals these instructive articles have appeared to the benefit of students of the word.

From the outset it was also agreed that we would appoint one writer for this series, provided it was practical to do so.  This has the benefits of consistency in both content and style, and has enabled us to keep in mind the plan that we should produce the articles in three volumes, again to the benefit of our readers and students.  Although the articles are aimed at the less experienced reader, they contain so much that is instructive for both young and old, irrespective of our level of understanding of the word of God.

The objective in reproducing this series in three volumes, God Willing, and of which this is the first, is to glorify our Heavenly Father, whose Word it is that we are so privileged to have and to hold.  The willing tool in the service of the Father has been Brother Jim Broughton of Pontesbury, who has given untold hours in the preparation of these articles for Light on a New World, and we thank him for all that he has been given the strength to do.

Should our Master tarry for long, we hope to produce the second and then the final volume, covering all 66 books of the word of God.  We hope that you will find them helpful for yourself and for any students for whom you may be responsible.

The Editor, January 1992.
